Simpson Strong-Tie® ICFVL Connectors are an immensely popular and effective solution for attaching wood or steel ledgers. These connectors are quickly and easily placed into the wall prior to pouring concrete. Once cured in place, wood ledgers can be attached to ICFVL Connectors using Simpson Strong-Tie® ICFVL-W or -CW Connectors, or steel ledgers can be attached directly to the ICFVL Connector with appropriate screws. Many builders also use ICFVL Connectors in areas where heavier wall loads are planned, such as locations of cabinetry, large book cases, etc. When used for supporting ledgers, 48" is the maximum allowable spacing. Though this spacing is sufficient for many applications, load tables should be consulted prior to ordering to ensure adequate support.
